Town of Colonial Beach Approximately 10 miles from our location. Riverside resort town on the Potomac River in Virginia’s Northern Neck region. Public beach & boardwalk, town pier, bike rentals, trolley tour, golf carts, restaurants plus antique and novelty shops.
Ingleside Vineyards Just 10 minutes away. One of Virginia’s oldest and largest wineries and produces over 18 varieties of wine from estate-grown grapes. Nearby, you will find the birthplaces of George Washington, Robert E. Lee, and James Monroe, among many other key historical spots of interest, including Ingleside Plantation
Oak Crest Vineyard and Winery A Long time effort by the Conrad Brandts family culminated in the opening of Oak Crest Winery in 2002. The winery’s creation involved a combination of genetics, scientific bent, fortunate opportunities, and the urge to create good wine and share it with others.
Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail Each winery offers wine tasting, tours and a gift shop. Most have a small fee associated with their services. Groups of 10 or more are welcome at all wineries, but please call ahead so we can give your group the attention it deserves. There are picnic facilities at each winery.
Tangier Island & Rappahannock River Cruises Either cruise the Chesapeake Bay to Tangier Island or explore the Rappahannock River, just let us make your day enjoyable.
Smith Island Cruise Smith Island, Maryland was discovered by Captain John Smith in 1608. This is the state of Maryland’s only inhabited offshore island. Smith Island Maryland is known for its crabcakes, fun cruises, scenery and wildlife.
King’s Dominion Theme Park Approximately an hour’s drive. Park information and tickets.
Busch Gardens Approximately a 2 hour drive. Park information and tickets.
Jamestown, Virginia Approximately a 2 hour drive. Site of the first permanent English settlement in North America. Jamestown is the beginning of America.
Colonial Williamsburg Approximately a 2 hour drive. Discover Colonial Williamsburg and immerse yourself in the 18th-century capital city of Virginia. See all that the Revolutionary City has to offer.
Belle Grove Plantation – Birthplace of James Madison On the banks of the Rappahannock River, 20 minute drive from Colonial Beach, this 1791 mansion is the birthplace of President James Madison. For House tour information and special events see website.
